Funding Formula Stage 2
Q. What can undermine credibility?
Factors To Avoid
Donors do not want to see that your organisation is undertaking any of the following:
- working with and/or employing staff on the World Bank (or other) Sanctions List
- working with and/or employing staff on the consolidated lists of known terrorist organizations
- non-compliance with policies and procedures, especially:
- the DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) child safety assessments and checks: criminal record checks undertaken for those staff who work with children or vulnerable adults
- recruitment
- grievances
- dismissal
- bullying/harassment
- health and safety
- whistleblowing
- safeguarding
- paying high employee costs, especially high salaries for the highest earning staff
- ignoring health and safety and environmental safeguards
- not adhering to or implementing your Risk Register*
- attracting adverse publicity (or not dealing with it efficiently)
- pending lawsuits
- infringing human rights, or the perception of infringing human rights; lack of duty of care to staff or clients; or any human rights included in the general category of Health Care Compliance of Member Associations and Data Privacy and/or Protected Health Information
- funding individuals, political parties, religious organizations and/or lobbying: for many donors, this is not acceptable
*A Risk Register is a central repository for all risks identified by your organisation and, for each risk, includes information such as source, nature, treatment option, existing counter-measures, and recommended counter-measures and so on.
